Your pension benefit

You will receive pension from the first day of the month in which you retire. You will receive this benefit for as long as you live.

What do you have to do?

Do you live in the Netherlands?
Once your pension application has been finalised, you will automatically receive a monthly pension benefit. You don’t have to do anything yourself.
Do you live abroad?
Then other rules apply. To receive pension benefits you need to provide us with a 'Proof of Life Certificate' (Attestation de vita) once a year.

What else do you have to know?

We will transfer your pension benefit to you every month before the 25th of the month. The moment you see the amount in your account depends on your own bank as well. Bear in mind that holidays can cause delays.
Your holiday allowance is already included in your monthly pension benefit. In other words, we don't pay holiday allowance separately.
When you start receiving pension benefit, we will send you a gross-net specification of all your pension amounts.
We will send you an annual statement every year. You will need this for the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.
Every year, the pension fund determines if the pension amounts can be increased with a supplement.
From the moment you receive AOW benefits, different tax rates and tax credits apply. Read more at Belastingdienst.nl, the website of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.
