Converting your pension
You're about to retire. There is still time to make changes to your pension, for example by converting the retirement pension for partner’s pension or vice versa. You can only choose to do this once, which is when you retire. This choice is irreversible.
Do you want additional retirement pension?
You can convert all or part of the partner’s pension into additional retirement pension. Do you do have a partner? Your partner must agree to this conversion by signing the relevant documentation. You will receive a higher pension. If you die before your partner does, your partner will receive less partner’s pension or none at all. If you don’t have a partner on your retirement date, you should convert the partner's pension for extra retirement pension for you; any future partner is not entitled to a partner's pension.
Do you want a higher partner’s pension?
You can convert part of your retirement pension into additional partner’s pension. The partner's pension may not exceed 70% of the retirement pension. If you die, your partner will receive more partner’s pension. Your own pension will be lower (later).
What do you have to do?
If you're retiring at the statutory retirement age (AOW age) or when you turn 68, we will send you an application form 6 months before that date. You can indicate your choice for pension conversion on the form. Please send us the form no later than 3 months before your retirement date. This will give us enough time to organize everything in time to pay your pension on the retirement date.
